Hotels around the world do a wonderful job reaching out to local charities, and I love sharing examples of the industry’s pervasive goodwill.

Back in December we featured a photoset of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver’s “Gingerbread Lane” Christmas display in their lobby. Funds raised through this event were dedicated to the Canadian Make-A-Wish foundation.

The hotel’s fundraising efforts yielded almost $7K, and today I discovered that this money will fulfill a young lady’s wish to go to Disney World.

Last Sunday, January 20th Hyatt Regency general manager Steve McNally, and actors Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart presented ten year old Jennifer with a cheque for $6,600 made out to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC and Yukon.

Young Jennifer has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, and her wish is to travel to Disney World. Her wish will now come true thanks to all the generous donations from Hyatt’s annual Gingerbread Lane event.

“Not only will Jennifer and her family enjoy a much anticipated and deserved trip to Disney World, but she also got to meet two Hollywood stars, Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart,” says McNally.

Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart were filming their latest movie “Traveling” in the lobby of Hyatt Regency Vancouver from January 13th to 20th.
