On the topic of future and rumoured openings, do you have any insider info on Ritz-Carlton managing the hotel in the mixed-use development on Georgia across from the Shangri-la?

I’ve been hearing about Ritz-Carlton coming to Vancouver for years. Everyone seems to have heard the same thing, but there is never a location that seems to solidify.

The Four Seasons & the Hotel Georgia were the last two properties I’ve heard changing to the Ritz Carlton flag...but I haven’t heard of the mixed-use across from the Shangri-La. That must be the West Georgia Holdings development...would be cool if it was really going to be a Ritz-Carlton.

Six months ago I emailed Rita-Carlton Public Relations and asked about a Vancouver project--they denied that anything was in the works, but who knows if that was an informed answer.

I’ve noticed web traffic increasing today for the search term “Ritz Carlton Vancouver”...does anyone know if there is something in the works for Vancouver?

Ritz-Carlton corporate site shows ‘nada’:

...although the Toronto development makes #2 for Canada after Montreal.

Looks like there might be some confusion between the Ritz-Carlton hotel brand, and ”The Ritz”, a residential development across the street from the new Loden Vancouver hotel development.

Ritz-Carlton really is coming to Vancouver! I heard on the radio this morning that the location will be 1153 Georgia between Thurlow and Bute streets

The project is a mixed-used development, with residences ranging from $1.4M to $15M.
