As far as I know, the Hotel Giardino project is still a go. The site is directly adjacent to Umberto’s Restaurant, (Il Giardino) on Hornby Street.
Tourism Vancouver’s May, 2007 accommodations update shows that the 40 hotel room development has been approved since 2005, and will open in 2009.
Not much happening there in terms of construction, however.
