Hotel “Tips for Travellers” on YouTube
Chris · July 12, 2007
Today I stumbled upon a wonderful collection of video hotel reviews submitted by YouTube user Gary Bembridge.
This British hotel maven delivers short, entertaining and highly valuable mini tours of hotel rooms he stays in. When hotel reviews are partnered with video, their accuracy and relevance are virtually impossible to deny. Gary has also developed a series of podcasts from his travels which look equally promising to discover true insider travel destination info. Check out TipsforTravellers.com.
Gary has amassed almost one hundred video reviews in his YouTube inventory including hotel properties from virtually all market segments. Going to Toronto? You might want to avoid the desolate Westin Prince. Heading to Seoul, Korea? Perhaps the Grand Hyatt Hotel is for you. The rooms are small, but sweet.
Social media travel spaces and communities are fast becoming the respected resources for travel research. Why? Because they do a far better job uncovering truth than any corporate website will ever do. In Europe, video review sites such as Trivop and Tvtrip are already flourishing. Adam Healy’s upstart hotel review community called VibeAgent is building momentum. Travel communities like MatadorTravel are already tapping in to the strength and power of communities to deliver travel info from peer to peer. This is an exciting time for travellers seeking real information, because they can actually find it.
I love this tour of London’s ultra-luxury Ritz Hotel. Posh? You bet!
