Guest Love for Vancouver’s Delta Suites

TalentChris · October 14, 2007

Flickr.com is a great resource for sourcing hotel industry guest-generated content, and there are literally thousands of candid hotel images uploaded by members.

Bizzy Girl” (aka Cathy) was recently in Vancouver for an extended stay through her work, and she uploaded some terrific pics of her hotel experience at the Delta Suites. Even more engaging than the images, however, are her comments about her experience with the Delta.

Cathy clearly felt the love from the hotel team, and she was more than happy to share her thoughts with flickr’s community-at-large.

Check it out:

“The lobby. Always a hive of activity.”

“Where I ate every morning for free. They were so used to seeing me everyday they started treating me differently. The chef would sometimes bring my meal to the table and knew exactly how I liked my bacon cooked. Sighhhhh..... ”

“Well due to cost-cutting measures I’ve been moved to cheaper digs at the Days Inn, but the three weeks I spent at the Delta Vancouver Suites were awesome. Surrounded by contemporary yet elegant design I was treated to a free breakfast and complimentary snacks after work in the Club Lounge.”

“I have the awesomest chambermaid ever!!!

Maui and I are on a first-name basis now. Shortly after I arrived we started joking around. She would come to turn down my bed and leave me a chocolate, and it seemed every time she came in I was either on the phone or had a coworker over. She would replenish my water bottle supply even though I wasn’t drinking it, so it became a running joke that I was going to drown in water bottles.

Then one day she commented to me about how insanely neat my room was. She said she wouldn’t have to do anything when she serviced my room other than to wipe a few surfaces down. Even my bed hardly needed making since I sleep like I’m dead and don’t mess up the sheets.

On this particular evening she asked me during her turndown visit if I wanted chocolate. I told her jokingly that I was feeling kind of neglected since arriving I was getting TWO chocolates and now for some reason was only getting ONE. Maui went to her cart in the hallway and returned with both her hands full of chocolates and truffles! As she was leaving she introduced me to her coworker and instructed her that if she is ever servicing my room to make sure and leave me a shitload of chocolates.

Maui rocks.”

Congrats to G.M. Murray Kelsey and his crew at the Delta Suites for delivering on the promise of the Delta brand--at least with Bizzy Girl.

Isn’t this the guest experience all hoteliers are trying to create?
