Fresh Talent at the Loden Vancouver

The Kor Group’s upcoming Loden Vancouver hotel has set an opening date in March, 2008 after postponing a summer 2007 completion.
G.M. Edel Forristal already has some senior managers in place such as Barbara Hicks, the hotel’s Director of Sales, and Executive Chef Marc-André Choquette, but the Loden’s website reveals they are still recruiting for many positions throughout the organization before they open in three months.
Two new managers recently joined the Loden Vancouver’s leadership team: Wesley Joe joined the hotel as Director of Rooms, and Robert Herman joined Voya Restaurant as General Manager.
These are two key positions, and they’ve been filled with experienced local hospitality mavens.
Wesley Joe leads the Loden’s guest-services team including the front desk, concierge, and housekeeping departments. Wesley is an experienced rooms manager with a diverse resume including leadership roles as Banquet Manager, Chief Steward, Guest Services Manager, Front Office Manager and Director of Housekeeping.
Wesley was most recently with the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, and he was a member of Fairmont’s ‘Transition Team’—the lucky individuals who get dispatched to help open newly branded Fairmont properties around the world.
Robert Herman will work with Executive Chef Marc-Andre to establish Voya restaurant as a prominent destination in Vancouver. Robert has held high profile positions in the boutique hospitality industry in Vancouver, most recently as the Assistant Wine Director for Cin Cin Ristorante.
Robert’s hotel experience includes Restaurant Manager and Sommelier for Diva at the Met and the Metropolitan Hotel in Vancouver for six years. Robert Herman is also a Certified Sommelier from the Canadian Sommelier Guild.
